Existing database using asp.net core identity?

Hi , guys i have an existing database written in SSMS with custom users , so my question is can i scaffold the database to ASP.net core  project and use the .net core authentication (IdentityUser) for individual user accounts and some tutorial how can i do it, if there is.Excuse me if the question is not properly and clearly asked , i am a beginner with .net.
